The Tajik government is working on a program to reintegrate ex-terrorists into society. The draft decision "On the rehabilitation and reintegration program of extremist or terrorist persons in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2024-2028" was discussed at the government meeting headed by President Rahmon.

After 2018, the Tajik government returned to Tajikistan more than 300 women and children from Syria and Iraq who had lived in ISIS-controlled areas for 4 to 10 years. Experts are sure that all of them should undergo social and psychological rehabilitation. Future program details have yet to be announced. The draft resolution was discussed on May 31.
