The number of people infected with cholera spread in different regions of Sudan reached 9533 , and the number of victims of the epidemic reached 315 people. Armed conflicts in the country have destroyed the health system. The ongoing rains and floods since June are making the situation even more complicated.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Health of Sudan, it was noted that the number of people infected with the cholera epidemic spread in different states of the country reached 9,533.

In the statement, it was stated that the number of people who lost their lives due to the epidemic reached 315 people.

The statement also noted that the number of people who lost their lives due to heavy rains and floods in 11 states of Sudan since June has increased to 225.

It was reported that the number of people affected by floods and rains reached 345,204.

Heavy rains and floods occur in the country every year between July and October. As a result, more than 100 people die a year, and tens of thousands of homes, businesses, and farmland are damaged. This year, these natural phenomena are also the reason for the outbreak of cholera. The Sudanese government declared cholera an epidemic on August 12.

To combat cholera epidemics, water supply and basic sanitation are required. However, Sudan's ongoing civil war, health crisis, and drought and flooding are hampering the fight against the epidemic. And the epidemic is making life more difficult for millions of Sudanese Muslims who are already suffering from hunger and homelessness.
