At the "Central Asia - Italy" meeting in the "S5+1" format aimed at strengthening cooperation, the issues of establishing strategic partnership, strengthening economic and industrial cooperation in the fields of water, environmental resources and higher education were discussed.

A meeting was held at the state guest house "Villa Madama" in Rome with the participation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister of Italy Antonio Tajani, as well as the heads of the foreign ministries of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

"Italy is very interested in the political cooperation and opportunities opening up for our business in Central Asia. It is important for us to establish a strategic partnership with these countries in the fields of water, environmental resources and higher education, as well as to strengthen economic and industrial cooperation. That's why we included 30 Italian companies in today's meeting," Tajani said in a statement.

The head of the Italian MFA noted that Rome intends to strengthen cooperation with the countries of Central Asia.

"The government has made a strong push to intensify relations with the countries of the region, which is confirmed by the economic forums held with Uzbekistan in June 2023, Kazakhstan in January of this year, and Tajikistan in April. It is planned to hold events in the economic sphere with other countries of the region," he said.

According to the Prime Minister, regional projects in the fields of infrastructure, agriculture, mechanical engineering and energy are given special importance within the framework of mutual cooperation with all the countries of Central Asia.

It was also noted that during the meeting, issues such as energy exchange between the countries, global problems and communication issues were discussed.
