Immediately after Norway , Ireland announced that it officially recognized the state of Palestine. Spain is following them - the decision on this will come into force on May 28 .
"Today, Ireland, Norway and Spain announce the recognition of the State of Palestine, and each of us will take all necessary national measures to implement this decision, " said Irish Prime Minister Simon Harris.
He added that other countries will join them in taking this important step in the coming weeks.
In particular, Slovenia is expected to announce its decision on June 13. Belgium and France also want to take this step.
