27 people killed in terrorist attack in India
At least 27 people have been killed and 12 others injured in a terrorist attack in the northern Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir, NDTV and the Greater Kashmir newspaper reported .
Two or three gunmen, reportedly affiliated with the terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba, attacked tourists traveling in the Bayasaran Valley, killing 27 tourists.
A woman who survived the attack told the PTI news agency that the terrorists asked her about her religious beliefs before opening fire.
According to the report, after a search operation by security forces, two terrorists were eliminated and a large cache of weapons and ammunition was found in the terrorists' possession.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that those behind the incident would be punished and the fight against terrorism would be further intensified .
For information, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed his condolences to Indian President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in connection with the terrorist attack.
"The Head of State expressed sincere condolences to the families and loved ones of those who died in the tragedy, as well as to the entire people of India, and wished a speedy recovery to the injured," said Presidential Spokesperson Sherzod Asadov.
