The Guardian Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran, which oversees elections, has selected 6 of the 80 candidates registered to participate in the June 28 presidential election following the unexpected death of President Ibrahim Raisi. Four women were also registered as candidates for the presidency of Iran, but they did not make it to the final list.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian made his first official trip abroad to Iraq. during this visit, it is planned to sign several documents on cooperation between the two countries in the economic, trade, cultural and social spheres.
