The answers to the questions of moral pedagogy, which Muslims call "education", are quite flexible and varied. What is the right way to acquire or teach the desired virtue: love or fear? Is it the warm upbringing of loving parents or the iron discipline of a strict teacher? Philosophical reflections of the wise or the advice of the most successful and powerful people? The intensity of the battles or the silence of the library? Can we be moral without religion? This question is asked a lot in the secular world. Polls show that the answer to this question depends on who is asking it: for the poor and religious majority of humanity, the answer is no; and for those brainwashed by the rich, secularized minorities, or aggressive secular regimes, the answer is usually yes.
