Why is Lithuania worried about the increase in Uzbek migrants?

The number of Russian-speaking people in Lithuania is increasing, reportedly due to refugees from Ukraine and labor migrants from Central Asian countries such as Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

The director of Lithuania's Department for National Minorities acknowledged that it is difficult to "de-Russify" society, as the majority of the new arrivals communicate in Russian.

Over the past 2.5 years, the number of Tajik citizens in the country has increased 4.5 times!

Local media reports say that this situation is intolerable - the increasing use of Russian in public places in Vilnius is causing concern.
