Uzbeks are committing many crimes - Russian Interior Ministry



Uzbeks are the most likely to commit crimes among migrants in Russia, Russian Deputy Interior Minister Vitaly Yakovlev said yesterday, June 12, at an international conference on "Peace, Sustainable Development and Migration" in the capital of Turkmenistan, Ashgabat.

He said that in the first quarter of this year, 35.5 percent of crimes committed by foreigners in Russia were committed by citizens of Uzbekistan. In second place are citizens of Tajikistan - they are responsible for 16.6 percent of crimes. The list is completed by citizens of Kyrgyzstan with 11.5 percent.

According to the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, the number of crimes committed by foreigners in Russia in the first quarter of this year increased by 15.3% compared to the same period last year.

Earlier, it was reported that a major raid was conducted in Moscow, and law enforcement agencies were taking strict measures against migrants whose documents were found to be incomplete or whose documents had expired.
