Uzbekistan passes law banning e-cigarettes
The Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis has adopted a law prohibiting the circulation of nicotine consumption devices, including electronic cigarettes and liquids for them.
According to the law, the production, storage, transportation, import or export of electronic cigarettes and nicotine devices is strictly prohibited in Uzbekistan. It also establishes liability for violations related to the illegal introduction of these products into circulation.
The draft law was reviewed by deputies during the preparation process and improved based on their suggestions.
It was noted that the adoption of the law will serve to protect the health of the population, preserve the nation's gene pool, and protect the environment from new types of tobacco and nicotine products.
This decision is seen as another important step in Uzbekistan's efforts to protect public health and limit the spread of harmful products.
