Uzbek snipers take first place in competition in Turkey
The Uzbek team came first among 48 teams from 15 countries at the military sniper competition held in Isparta, Turkey. Uzbek snipers achieved the best results in conditions such as live fire from an uncomfortable fortification, behind various obstacles, from a helicopter and a boat, running with a load and weapons from a distance of 5 km, and shooting at unknown distances at night.
The team of the Ministry of Defense of Uzbekistan won the gold medal at the 5th International "Most Advanced Sniper Team" competition held in Turkey from May 5 to 16, the ministry reports.
The competition, which was held at the Commando Mountain Training Center in Isparta, Turkey, was attended by 48 teams from 15 countries. More than a dozen countries, including Uzbekistan, Turkey, Pakistan, Qatar, Azerbaijan, Italy, and the United Arab Emirates, as well as Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Britain, and Kuwait, participated in the competition as observers. The participants were divided into groups and competed in about 15 conditions.
In particular, the teams completed the following conditions: high-angle shooting, combat shooting while wearing a gas mask, shooting from an inconvenient fortification at unknown distances, shooting from behind various obstacles, shooting from a helicopter in the air, defending an island and combat shooting from a boat, shooting while approaching a target without being noticed, running with a load and a weapon from a distance of 5 km and shooting from a cold barrel, shooting at unknown distances at night, and "surprise" conditions.
The Uzbek team is participating in this competition in Turkey for the 4th time, taking 2nd place in 2022 and 2023, and 1st place in 2024.
