Uzbek delegation meets with Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah
A meeting was held in Jeddah between the Uzbek delegation and the leadership of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia. The meeting was attended by the Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan al-Rabia, Chairman of the Committee for Religious Affairs, Sadiqjon Toshboev, Chairman of the Muslim Office of Uzbekistan, Mufti Sheikh Nuriddin Khaliqnazar, and Attaché for Hajj and Umrah Affairs, Shukhrat Amoni. The meeting discussed issues of organizing the Hajj-2025 season at a high level.
At the beginning of the conversation, the friendly relations between the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the King of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud were noted. The high level of amenities and services for pilgrims was noted. In particular, it was noted that the Hajj quota had been doubled and more than 60 thousand Uzbeks had performed the Hajj in the past seven years.
Saudi Arabia has highly praised the reforms, organizational work, legal frameworks, and digitalization processes carried out in recent years for the Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages. The discipline of pilgrims and their preparation for the Hajj pilgrimage were also considered exemplary.
In his speech, Tawfiq bin Fawzan ar-Rabia acknowledged the reforms in New Uzbekistan and emphasized that the reforms in the land of great scholars such as Ibn Sina and al-Khwarizmi would pave the way for the emergence of new thinkers in the future.
