Turkey to build military bases in Syria

Ankara is planning to build two military bases in Syria in an effort to boost military cooperation between Turkey and Syria. According to Turkish pro-government media, the deal will include the construction of military airfields that could house up to 50 F-16 fighter jets.

Turkish military instructors are scheduled to conduct training exercises for the Syrian army and pilots. Turkey has also pledged to help Damascus maintain security and respond quickly to unexpected threats.

The Syrian government has reportedly asked Turkey to provide drones, radar, and electronic warfare systems to monitor the border with Israel in an effort to strengthen its territorial integrity.

At the same time, Israel continues to build its military bases in the Golan Heights in order to create a buffer zone.

It is emphasized that this agreement between Turkey and Syria is aimed at strengthening regional security and further strengthening military cooperation between the two countries.
