Turkey expressed its readiness to help the government of Mali

Turkish delegation headed by Ambassador of Turkey in Bamako Efe Ceylan met with Chief of General Staff of Mali General Omar Diarra.

At the meeting, the Turkish military delegation confirmed its readiness to continue providing military assistance to the government of Mali in the fight against terrorist groups. However, this aid, according to observers, is aimed at suppressing the militants fighting not only the Malian government army, but also the "Wagner" mercenaries present in the country.

Diarra, for his part, noted that despite the concerns, the cooperation between the two countries is "excellent".

"Despite many difficulties, Turkey is always on our side," Diarra said, noting that the Malian army received drones and other military equipment from Turkey.

"This assistance allowed us to attack the resistance forces that threaten the stability of the country," he added.

The Chief of the General Staff also noted that Turkey's support significantly strengthened the position of the government forces. But critics say the aid has led to increased violence and suffering among civilians.
