Turkey and Uzbekistan have signed an agreement on cooperation in the fields of mass media and communication. With the protocol, inter alia, joint meetings, seminars, practical exercises, trainings and conferences will be organized, and exchange of visits between officials and experts in the fields of mass media, communication and broadcasting will be encouraged.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev paid an official visit to Turkey yesterday, June 6, to participate in the 3rd meeting of the Turkey-Uzbekistan High Level Strategic Cooperation Council.

Within the framework of the visit, the Head of the Communications Department under the President of Turkey, Fahrettin Altun, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov, signed a memorandum of understanding to expand cooperation in the field of mass media and communications between the two countries at a signing ceremony held at the presidential residence under the leadership of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. .

The memorandum of understanding "On cooperation in the field of mass media and communications" signed between the Directorate of Communications under the President of Turkey and the Agency for Information and Mass Communications under the President of Uzbekistan envisages further strengthening of friendly relations and close cooperation between the two countries in the fields of mass media and communication.

Accordingly, the two countries strive to strengthen, encourage and develop cooperation between the two countries in the fields of communication, public diplomacy and mass media and broadcasting based on benefit and mutual benefit, in accordance with the laws, rules, regulations and national policies in force in their countries.

With the protocol, the two countries will achieve cooperation on the exchange of information, experience and advanced skills, mutually beneficial and beneficial initiatives and projects in the field of mass media and communication. In addition, joint meetings, seminars, workshops, trainings and conferences are organized, and exchanges of visits between officials and experts in the fields of mass media, communication and broadcasting are encouraged.

The protocol is valid for 5 (five) years.
