Tokayev: Guinea-Bissau is Kazakhstan's important partner on the African continent
Tokayev called Guinea-Bissau an important partner of Kazakhstan in Africa, saying that there are great opportunities to deepen bilateral relations and develop cooperation in the fields of agriculture, mining, digitalization, transport and logistics.
Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, during a meeting with Guinea-Bissau President Umaru Sissoko Embalo, highlighted Guinea-Bissau as an important partner of Kazakhstan on the African continent. He noted that there are great opportunities for deepening bilateral relations and developing cooperation in the fields of agriculture, mining, digitalization, transport and logistics. Tokayev also expressed his intention to expand cooperation within international organizations, including the UN and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
Tokayev noted that in 2023, Kazakhstan and Guinea-Bissau will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. This milestone opens up new opportunities for strengthening relations between the countries. According to the President, friendly relations between the two countries are not only based on mutual respect and support, but also demonstrate great potential in the economic and trade spheres.
Umaru Sissoko Embalo supported Kazakhstan's initiatives to reform international organizations. He noted the successful development of cooperation between the two countries and expressed his readiness to further expand these relations.
At the end of the meeting, issues of cooperation in many promising areas, such as agriculture, transport and logistics, mining and metallurgy, finance, digitalization and telecommunications technologies, were discussed. The parties also adopted an agreement on visa exemption, which will further facilitate relations between the two countries.
This meeting brought the strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and Guinea-Bissau to a new level and was an important step in strengthening international ties.
