"Tillakori" Madrasah to be restored



The Tillakori Madrasah, located on Registan Square in Samarkand, will be restored, the Cultural Heritage Agency reported.

It was announced at a meeting of the Scientific and Expert Council under the Agency that permission has been granted to restore and rebuild the "Tillakori" madrasah, located on Registan Square in Samarkand, provided that the monument's decorations are not damaged.

Also, proposals were approved for the repair and restoration of the "Sufi Olloyor" mosque in Samarkand region, the "Castle Wall" in the historical center of Shahrisabz, the "Salt Cave" cultural heritage site in Surkhandarya region, the transformation of the "Soqi Mavlon Ota" mausoleum in Kashkadarya region into a complex pilgrimage site while preserving its historical and natural landscape, the reconstruction and restoration of the "Imam Moturidiy" memorial complex, the construction of additional buildings, and the improvement of the territory.
During the meeting, projects such as the construction of a new mosque on the territory of the "Gurumsaroy" ("Kholmatboy") mosque in the Namangan region and the construction of an additional building in the existing khanaqo part of the architectural monument of the "Hotamkhan Tora" mosque in the Andijan region were rejected.
