There is no longer a place for the family-clan system in state governance - Tokayev

Kazakhstan is implementing a meritocracy - a system of appointing citizens to high positions based on their abilities, knowledge, and achievements. Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said this at a teachers' conference in Astana.

According to the press service of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Tokayev announced that the political system in the country has been completely renewed.

"Our society is developing, the mindset of citizens is changing. The principle of meritocracy is leading in public services. Now there is no place for the "family-clan system" in power," he said.

Addressing teachers during his speech, Tokayev emphasized the great role of educators in the advancement of society. "Every honest compatriot is educated within the walls of the school," he said.
