The Biden administration has banned trade with three Chinese companies that manufacture seafood, aluminum and footwear. The US Department of Finance has accused these companies of forcibly employing Turkic residents of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region. This was reported by TRT television and radio channel.

The United States has previously blacklisted Chinese companies operating in various manufacturing sectors, including textiles, solar panels and seafood processing. The official Washington has repeatedly repeated its concern that Uyghurs are forced into slave labor in all of them.

The new sanctions brought China's list of organizations participating in human rights-based enforcement programs to 68 - more than double the number of firms at the start of the year.

"The Chinese government is carrying out a program of forced relocation of representatives of national minorities to factories, mines and labor camps in the region. Officials are trying to get out of the water by saying that these programs are aimed at fighting poverty," the statement said.

Despite this, human rights experts say that the persecution of Uyghurs is increasing, and that those who leave their workplaces for a while are severely punished.
