The President of Uzbekistan pardoned 483 people


Of those pardoned, 25 are foreign citizens, 32 are women, 5 are men over 60 years old, 274 are young (including 104 are minors), and 6 are persons who participated in the activities of banned organizations.

The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, signed the Decree "On pardoning a group of people who are serving a sentence, sincerely regret their actions, and are firmly on the path to recovery."

In accordance with the decree, on the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of Uzbekistan and on the basis of paragraph 23 of Article 109 of the Constitution of Uzbekistan, 483 persons who have committed a crime without knowing it, who are now sincerely regretting their actions and are resolutely on the road to recovery, were pardoned.

107 of the pardoned persons will be fully released from the sentence, 275 will be released on parole before serving the sentence, and the sentence imposed on 7 will be replaced by a lighter one. Also, the terms of the imprisonment sentences assigned to 94 persons will be shortened.

This event is a practical expression of the humanitarian policy being carried out in our country, and the manifestation of the noble qualities of our people, such as tolerance, forgiveness, generosity and kindness.

In connection with the execution of the decree, relevant tasks were given to the responsible ministries and agencies to return the pardoned persons to their families and relatives, to adapt to social life, engage in useful work, establish a healthy lifestyle and find a worthy place in society.
