The President of Kazakhstan has appointed 44-year-old Oljas Bektenov as the Prime Minister

By the decree of Kasim-Jomart Toqaev, Oljas Bektenov, who worked as the head of the presidential administration, was appointed as the prime minister of the country. A day ago, the president accepted the resignation of the current government and appointed Roman Sklyarg as the head of the government temporarily.

President of Kazakhstan Kasim-Jomart Tokaev has appointed Oljas Abaevich Bektenov as the prime minister of the republic. This was reported by the press service of the head of state on Tuesday, February 6.

Earlier, Akorda press service reported that Tokaev received the speaker of the parliament, the chairman of the "Amanat" party, Erlan Koshanov, and on behalf of the party, he proposed Oljas Bektenov as a candidate for the position of prime minister.

Since April 2023, Oljas Bektenov has been working as the head of the Administration of the President of Kazakhstan. Before that, he headed the Anti-Corruption Agency.

We remind you that a day ago it was reported that the President of Kazakhstan accepted the resignation of the government. Tokaev also decided to appoint Roman Vasilevich Sklyar as the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan temporarily.

Members of the Kazakh government were ordered to continue in their duties until the new government composition is approved.
