On September 12, the border customs post "Korasuv" in Korgontepa district of Andijan region was solemnly opened, the press service of the Customs Committee of Uzbekistan reports.

It is noted that the checkpoint "Korasuv" located in the city of Karasuv of Korgontepa district and "Korasuu" of Osh region was closed 14 years ago. The restoration of their activities was carried out based on the agreement between the leaders of the two countries.

The border customs post "Korasuv" has an area of more than 3 hectares, and more than 12,000 citizens can pass through it a day. Passengers travel mostly through closed facilities.

"In order to move from Osh region of the Kyrgyz Republic to Jalalabad region, 120 km has been covered until now, now this distance is reduced to 101 km, and only 19 km is enough to move through the territory of Uzbekistan in the transit mode," the committee said.

On this day, the Uchkurgan checkpoint will be opened in Namangan region.

In March 2010, the large "Korasuv-Avtodorojniy" transfer point connecting Aravon district of Osh region of Kyrgyzstan and Marhamat district of Andijan region of Uzbekistan was unilaterally closed .
