The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) reported that a citizen of one of the Central Asian countries planned to attack the Orthodox church located in Maykop, Adygea Republic of the Russian Federation . It was reported that he developed an attack plan, conducted reconnaissance in the area, bought the necessary equipment and made an improvised incendiary device.

The Russian department noted that the terrorist attack was prepared by a person born in one of the countries of the Central Asian region.
"The terrorist attacked the religious institution (Orthodox church) in Maykop and killed its priests and guards , and the building "planned arson, conducted reconnaissance in the area, prepared an attack plan, bought the necessary components and made an improvised incendiary device," the report said.
It is noted that after the attack, the militant planned to hide abroad.
It is worth noting that the Russian special services have recently intensified their efforts to use labor migrants from Central Asia for their own malicious purposes (in particular, to take coercive measures to involve them in the war in Ukraine), as well as to defame them, to strengthen xenophobia and nationalism in the country.
