The 5th nomadic games have ended in Kazakhstan, the baton has been handed over to Kyrgyzstan
In Astana (Kazakhstan), the 5th World Nomadic Games have ended. Kyrgyz Ministry of Culture reports that the baton of hosting the next games has been handed over to Kyrgyzstan.
On September 8-13, the 5th World Nomad Games were held in Astana, Kazakhstan . More than 2,500 athletes from 89 countries took part in it. They competed in 21 sports , including wrestling, wrestling, tug-of-war, archery, racing, and wrestling .
In the medals fund of the Games, the national team of Uzbekistan took fourth place with 11 gold, 12 silver and 11 bronze - a total of 34 medals .
The first place went to the national team of Kazakhstan with 114 medals: 43 gold, 34 silver and 37 bronze. The second place was taken by the national team of Kyrgyzstan with 19 gold, 21 silver and 25 bronze (64), and the third place was taken by Russia with 12 gold, 10 silver and 25 bronze (47) medals. Turkey (6) also took a place in the top five.
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev , President of Kazakhstan Kasim-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadir Japarov, national leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Chairman of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and other foreign guests took part in the opening ceremony of the Games in "Astana Arena".
