Shavkat Mirziyoyev promotes initiatives on "green" development and sustainability at Abu Dhabi summit

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, speaking at the Abu Dhabi Sustainable Development Week summit, outlined the country's priority goals for sustainable development and "green" growth.

The President noted that Uzbekistan, rich in strategic raw materials, is ready to create favorable conditions for every foreign partner. An initiative was also put forward to establish an international scientific research network on combating land degradation and desertification based on the "Green" University in Tashkent.

Mirziyoyev recalled that at the COP-28 and COP-29 summits, he made proposals to establish a water-saving technologies hub, a plant genetic resources bank, and an international center for assessing climate damage.

It is also planned to hold a conference on climate issues in Central Asia in 2024, where the concept of "Green Development" will be presented. The President invited everyone to the Digital "Green" Initiatives Youth Festival, which will be held in the Aral Sea on May 15.

Concluding his speech, Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized that Uzbekistan is open to global cooperation on the path to sustainable development and "green" progress.
