President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev gave a speech at the BRICS Plus format summit held in Russia. In his speech, the head of state stated that Uzbekistan intends to actively develop partnership relations with BRICS countries. Uzbekistan's BRICS plans and the situation in the Middle East were also discussed.

The head of state mentioned that today the world is rapidly dividing, and the number of wars and conflicts that cause great suffering, severe suffering and irreparable losses to people is increasing.

He noted that the fragmentation of the global economy and trade is fueling inequality, technological disruption and protectionism. New barriers are emerging between countries.

"Under such circumstances, BRICS, acting on the basis of principles such as equality, freedom from blocs, consideration of each other's interests, respect for sovereignty and the right to have its own independent development path, presents itself as an influential and developing structure of multilateral cooperation and partnership," he said. Shavkat Mirziyoev.

The President of Uzbekistan expressed confidence that such a model of mutual relations can be a solid basis for the formation of a new architecture of the world order that is fairer than today, while preserving the central role of the United Nations.

He expressed his support for the calls for global reconciliation through constructive dialogue, free from geopolitical competition, national egoism and ideological stereotypes.

He also noted that he believes that it is time to reform global governance institutions and expand responsible dialogues in the "South-South" and "North-South" formats.

He mentioned the need to pay special attention to preventing the spread of radicalization and extremist ideas, first of all, among young people.

Uzbekistan plans to:

- Active development of partnership relations with BRICS countries

- establishing close cooperation with the new Development Bank of BRICS for the implementation of priority investment and social projects;

expanding practical cooperation in areas such as innovation, digital economy, "green" development and energy, barrier-free e-commerce;

- Participation in collaborative joint projects of the BRICS Artificial Intelligence Research Group on the prevention of possible risks in the field and the development of uniform management standards;

- Joining the Competence Center of BRICS under the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), as well as the proposed Investment Platform;

- Working closely with BRICS partners to strengthen transport connectivity, create new transcontinental corridors, form reliable supply logistics chains, develop the cabotage transportation system;

- development of relations between businessmen within the organization, etc.

Shavkat Mirziyoev's reaction to the situation in the Middle East:

- The growing conflict in the Middle East worries us too. This region is becoming a major focus of the global crisis as neighboring countries and major powers are drawn into this conflict.

- We accept the unprecedented humanitarian tragedy in Gaza and Lebanon with a sense of pain in our hearts. No political objective can justify the innocent victims of civilians, especially children.

- Today, immediate cessation of fire and emergency aid to the victims are tasks that cannot be delayed. We believe that the only solution to the Israeli-Palestinian problem is a peaceful resolution of the conflict based on the principle of "two states for two peoples".
