Residents of 54 villages in Kazakhstan have given up alcohol


Residents of 54 villages in 7 districts of Kazakhstan's Atyrau region have given up drinking alcohol, Kazinform reported, citing the regional police department.

It is noted that the process of giving up alcohol began 5 years ago in the village of Kurilis, Inder district. As a result, not a single crime was recorded in the village for a year. This had a positive effect on other villages, and the number of villages that have given up drinking in the Atyrau region has reached 54.

Currently, the Kyzylkogin district is leading in the number of villages that have given up alcohol. Here, 17 villagers do not drink vodka. In the Kurmangazi district, which borders Russia, 16 villagers do not buy alcoholic products. In the Makhambet district - 7, in Isatay - 6, in Inder - 4, in Zhilioy - 3, and in the Makat district - 1 villager has completely given up drinking.
