Pro-Europeans in Georgia are putting pressure on the government

Protests against the Georgian government's decision to suspend EU membership negotiations until 2028 have been ongoing for 22 days.

Protests that began on November 28 in response to Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze's statement that negotiations for membership in the European Union would not be held for the next four years have continued unabated.

Protesters took to the streets of the capital Tbilisi again overnight to express their dissatisfaction with the government's actions.

Protesters gathered in front of the parliament building, chanting anti-government slogans and demanding new parliamentary elections. The demonstration lasted until midnight.

The protesters carried flags of Georgia, the European Union, Ukraine, and the United States.
