Mubashshir Ahmed's extradition from Turkey to Uzbekistan has sparked widespread discussion in the Turkish public.

Major opposition newspapers in Turkey, such as Milli Gazete , Yeni Akit , and DoğruHaber, covered the issue on their front pages and criticized the government. They extensively covered the details of the incident, using harsh language such as "they handed my scholar over to a tyrant."

What happened?

Mubashshir Ahmad (Alisher Turdiev), a prominent Uzbek cleric living in Turkey, was arrested in Istanbul in early May of this year and deported to Uzbekistan on May 13. The Turkish Migration Directorate (Göç İdaresi) said in a statement that he was assessed as a "threat to public order and security" and was deported from the country following a court ruling.

"A deportation order was issued against this person due to the fact that he poses a threat to public order and security. The foreign citizen appealed this decision to the court, using the appeals process, but the court found that there was no violation of the law in the decision and dismissed the claim," the agency said in a statement.

The agency added that legal proceedings have been initiated against those who spread false information that misleads the public.

Although an appeal was filed against the decision, the administrative court rejected Tursunov's claim.

Opposition: this is oppression, injustice!

Milli Gazete strongly criticized this decision with the headline "Scientist handed over to a tyrant." The publication claims that Alisher Tursunov is not involved in any crime, he came to Turkey as a migrant scientist seeking asylum. The newspaper writes that the scientist was extradited without documents and illegally.

Yeni Akit also issued a statement saying that "he was extradited without any legal process or charges." DoğruHaber , citing a statement on human rights by the HÜDA PAR party, demanded justice and humanity from the Turkish government.

Health problems and possible consequences

Importantly, there is a strong emphasis in public and political circles that Ustad Mubashshir Ahmad's health is serious, and if he is detained or his condition is ignored, it could lead to international criticism of human rights.

Political analysts say that at a time when Turkish-Uzbek relations have been warming in recent years, such a "sensitive" issue could undermine trust between the two countries. Therefore, the Uzbek side could avoid international criticism by not keeping Alisher Tursunov in prison, guaranteeing his health, and conducting the investigation openly.

Political and religious circles, including the Turkish opposition, are demanding a serious solution to the situation of Mubashir Domla. Without a transparent and fair treatment of him, this incident will continue to cause sharp criticism not only of the relationship between the two countries, but also of Muslim communities and opposition forces in Turkey.
