Man arrested in Turkey for disrespecting the Quran

A young man from the Antalya region of Turkey has been arrested for disrespecting the Holy Quran by sitting on it on social media. A case has been opened against him on charges of insulting religious values.


A young man in the Antalya province of Turkey, a fan of the recently deceased popular singer Ferdi Tayfur, has been arrested for sitting on the Holy Quran and stomping on it with his feet. He filmed his actions and posted them on his social media pages.

According to the Regional Department of Internal Affairs, an investigation has been launched into the incident, and the suspect in the video was arrested at his home.

After completing administrative formalities, the suspect was taken to the courthouse and arrested by a judge's order.
