Kyrgyzstan proposes moving capital
At a session of the Kyrgyz parliament - Jogorku Kenesh, deputy Bakytbek Maripov put forward a proposal to move the capital to another location and locate the Cabinet of Ministers there.
Maripov believes that this measure will help solve the problem of air pollution and traffic congestion. According to him, the city of Asman, which is being built in the Issyk-Kul region, could be a suitable location for the capital. The city is being built at a cost of $10 billion, and the relocation of the railway from Bishkek will cost about $550 million.
"The traffic congestion problem can be solved by moving the capital to another location," the deputy says.
It should be noted that Kyrgyzstan previously changed its national flag.
