Kazakhstan wants to abandon autopsy in forensic examinations
The Kazakh government is considering the possibility of abandoning the practice of autopsy during forensic examinations, Interfax reports.
Kazakhstan's Justice Minister Erlan Sarsembayev announced that instead of examining corpses, which contradicts the "national and religious traditions" of the Kazakh people, it is planned to introduce "virtual autopsy" into forensic medicine.
This method uses computed tomography to examine people's bodies. The minister noted that the transition to the new methodology will not only speed up exams, but also make them more qualitative.
