The first tests of unmanned aerial vehicles specially developed for the needs of the Armed Forces were held in Kazakhstan by representatives of Kazakh enterprises, the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic reports.

According to the message, all flying machines are equipped with modern video surveillance devices , sensors, distance measuring devices and thermal imaging devices. Experts were shown drones that take to the air in different ways - catapults, special rubber belts, take off vertically like a helicopter and continue to fly like an airplane.

"These drones were created by local manufacturers and in a short period of time. We were able to clearly see and evaluate the results of their work. Of course, improvements are needed. And yet, this is a good start, " said Colonel Erzhan Jakashev, an officer of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan.

It is noted that local production enterprises tried to take into account all the demands and requests of the military. Adoption of domestically produced drones will significantly save budget funds , and will quickly solve the issues of their subsequent technical maintenance and modernization, the ministry said.

"We have very effective day and night cameras , a positioning function, a laser rangefinder and an ammunition release system. Such features allow artillery to be directed at targets. I think that they will be positively evaluated by the experts of the Armed Forces," said Aybek Axish, the representative of the manufacturer.
