Kazakhstan takes control of artificial intelligence
A departmental committee on Artificial Intelligence was established at the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan. This was reported by Reuters.
The government's decision was announced on the opening day of Beetech Conference 2024, the largest conference on the development of artificial intelligence under the auspices of the QazCode company in Astana. The event was attended by more than 1,000 delegates, including representatives of global giants NVIDIA and Booking, as well as local entrepreneurs and scientists in the field of neural networks.
The task of the committee will be to control the state policy on neural networks, to create a legislative framework for regulating the use of artificial intelligence in the republic, and also to develop local developments based on large language models.
The National Bank of the Republic announced on April 23 that one third of the country's financial market participants use artificial intelligence for their work. At the same time, the highest utilization rate of 60% is observed among the second-tier banks.
This report is based on a survey of 94 financial market participants to assess the readiness of Kazakhstan's financial market to use the potential of AI technologies.
About 45% of the respondents expressed their intention to introduce artificial intelligence in their activities this year. The development of artificial intelligence in 2024 is directly related to the current level of use of this technology.
