How much does it cost to bring a body from abroad?

During 2024, the bodies of 483 Uzbeks were returned to Uzbekistan from abroad. This was announced by the leadership of the Migration Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers at a press conference held at the AOKA.

According to the agency, the cost of repatriating bodies varies by country. For example:

From Russia – up to 1000 USD;
From England – 4-5 thousand dollars;
Bringing the body of a citizen from Japan and Korea can cost up to $9-10,000.

Agency representatives emphasized that they will provide assistance in bringing back bodies upon request, regardless of the deceased's legal status abroad.

For comparison, in 2022, 518 bodies of Uzbeks were brought back, and in 2021, more than 500. In April 2020, the bodies of 17 citizens who died in accidents in Russia were returned to the republic.
