Green Card 2025: Uzbeks became the nation with the most winners in the world
According to the results of the Diversity Visa (DV) - Green Card lottery conducted by the US Department of State , 5,564 citizens of Uzbekistan were recognized as winners in the 2025 program . This figure was recorded as the highest result in the world .
This year, the program selected approximately 131,000 candidates from around the world. Of these , 55,000 will be granted permanent residency in the United States. The majority of the winners are citizens of African, Asian, and European countries.
The five countries with the most wins are:
- Uzbekistan — 5,564 people
- Algeria — 5,526 people
- Russia — 5,519 people
- Egypt — 5,515 people
- Sudan — 5,505 people
US officials say that not all of the 55,000 people selected may successfully complete the visa process. Therefore, visas may also be issued from the reserve list from October 1, 2025 to September 30, 2026.
Dynamics of participation of citizens of Uzbekistan
The results of the last five years show that Uzbekistan has consistently high participation and success rates in the Green Card program:
- 2021 — 5,319 winners

In addition, it was noted that more than 2.8 million applications were submitted from Uzbekistan between 2019 and 2021 .

The Green Card Lottery was introduced under the US Immigration Act of 1990. More than 20 million people apply each year. However, winning is not a guarantee of a visa - candidates will have to undergo an interview and document verification at a US embassy.
