Thousands of people gathered to protest Israel's attacks on Gaza in the "Great Palestinian Demonstration," led by the Turkish National Will Platform and involving nearly four hundred non-governmental organizations.
On January 1, participants who performed morning prayers at Hagia Sophia, Sultanahmet, Fatih, Suleymaniye, and the new Eminönü mosques and other mosques, gathered after the prayer and walked towards the Galata Bridge.
The demonstration was attended by many deputies and mayors, including Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Oşkin Bak, Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmed Fatih Kaçir, Minister of Commerce Umar Bolat, former Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Mustafa Şentop, and Chairman of the "HUDA-PAR" party Zakariy Yapıcıoğlu.

Flags reading "Stop the Massacre in Gaza" in Turkish and English were hung on the Galata Bridge, and participants held banners reading "Yesterday Hagia Sophia, today Umayyad, tomorrow Aqsa: a sun is rising." The participants continued the demonstration, holding signs such as "Jerusalem is ours," "Gaza is a place where children cannot grow up," and "Jerusalem is under occupation" in one hand, and torches in the other.
Participants frequently chanted the takbir and chanted slogans such as "Murderer Israel will respond," "Martyrs will never die," and "From Istanbul to Al-Aqsa - a thousand salutes to the resistance movement."
Bilal Erdogan: "The mask of the West has been removed"
Bilal Erdoğan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the "Ilm Yayış Foundation" and Member of the Supreme Advisory Board of the "Turkish Youth Foundation", said in his speech that the mask of the West had been lifted and said the following: "We are here in solidarity with Palestine. We are here to condemn the massacre in Gaza. Let no one think that Turkey is sleeping. Let no one think that Muslims are sleeping at the dawn of this world. We are standing and we are alive. Gaza is not alone. Palestine is not alone. Syria is not alone. "We are here, Istanbul is here, Turkey is here."
"After Syria, Gaza will also achieve victory"
Bilal Erdogan continued his speech: "Where are human rights?! Where are children's rights? Where are women's rights?! Where is freedom of the press, freedom of speech?! All Western values have died in Gaza and in the West. They have shown once again that they do not respect any rights for those who are not from them," he said.
Bilal Erdogan emphasized that after Syria, Gaza will also emerge victorious from the siege, saying, "Muslims in Syria have shown determination, have been patient, and have achieved victory. After Syria, God willing, Gaza will also emerge victorious from the siege. We will stand by the oppressed people of Gaza with our prayers, with our demonstrations of solidarity, with our boycott, and with our secret and public actions to reach that blessed day."
