Gambling officials fired in Kazakhstan

In the city of Uralsk, Kazakhstan, 24 officials were disciplined for participating in gambling, 16 of whom were dismissed from their posts.

The prosecutor's office said that the charges include employees of the city administration, the finance department, and the police, who placed bets through bookmakers, including after the ban.

The statement said that starting September 9, 2024, it will be illegal for civil servants to participate in gambling and place bets, including online.
