Kyrgyz President Sadir Japarov stressed that Western countries should not dictate to Bishkek with whom it should develop cooperation.

"It's definitely wrong because when I travel around Europe they say one thing but do another. Themselves too. There are European countries that are members of NATO or the European Union, which also cooperate with Russia. But they should not tell, show or ask us not to cooperate with Russia or the CIS," he said in his comments for Russian journalists.

Japarov took part in the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the CIS held in Moscow on October 8 .

Earlier, at the sixth Kyrgyz-Russian economic forum, which was held on September 12, the head of the Kyrgyz government Ak ilbek Japarov announced that the republic plans to increase the volume of trade with Russia from 3 billion to 5 billion dollars a year. He noted that Russia remains a strategic partner of Kyrgyzstan, with which "cultural and historical ties, as well as economic interests" are connected.

In February of this year, Sadir Japarov sent a letter to US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken asking him not to interfere in the politics of the republic.

"My only request is not to interfere in the internal affairs of our country," the letter of the Kyrgyz president reads.
