Drunk man stabs prevention inspector in Andijan

A preventive inspector in the Khojaabad district of Andijan region died after being stabbed by a drunk citizen, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.

It was reported that on July 1, at 8:50 p.m., the area prevention inspector, Senior Lieutenant A. Abduvaliev, along with the mahalla chairman A. Mamataliev, arrived at the scene of the incident after receiving a report on the 102 short number about a fight in an apartment in the "Yuksalish" mahalla of the Khojaabad district of the Andijan region.

Citizen Yunusaly Kholbazorov, born in 1960, was drunk and threatening his family members with a kitchen knife. During the process of neutralizing him, the citizen struck the employee in the chest with the knife in his hand, causing serious bodily injury. Despite the assistance provided as a result of the injury, A.Abduvaliev died while being taken to the hospital.

A criminal case has been initiated under Article 97, Part 2, Subparagraph "g" of the Criminal Code (intentional killing of a person in connection with the performance of one's official or civil duty).

According to the Criminal Code, the intentional killing of a person in connection with the performance of one's official or civic duty is punishable by imprisonment for a term of 15 to 25 years or life imprisonment.
