Criminal responsibility for domestic violence has been established in Kazakhstan
The President of Kazakhstan has signed a law introducing criminal liability for domestic violence. According to him, now those who cause minor damage to health will be held criminally liable. Responsibility for any form of violence against children has been strengthened.
Kasim-Jomart Tokaev signed the law on protection of women's rights and children's safety.
The draft law envisages criminal liability for beatings and slight harm to health, as well as strengthening punishment for any form of violence against children and excluding reconciliation between the parties.
The law also stipulates life imprisonment for pedophilia and child murder.
