Citizens deported to Uzbekistan will not be issued temporary travel passports
On May 13, 2025, by Resolution No. 313 of the Cabinet of Ministers, the document "On Additional Measures to Improve Labor Migration Processes" was adopted.
According to the resolution, starting from September 1, 2025, citizens of Uzbekistan readmitted in accordance with international agreements will not be provided with state services for issuing biometric passports for traveling abroad for two years.
Readmission is the process of accepting citizens who have been forcibly returned to Uzbekistan from foreign countries under international agreements. This usually applies to citizens whose visas have expired, who have violated the law, or who are residing illegally.
In accordance with the new resolution, the following information will be maintained through the Unified Electronic Database of Information on Migration Processes:
Information received from diplomatic missions abroad through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs;
Information on persons readmitted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs;
Information provided by the Migration Agency and its representatives abroad.
It is also envisaged that the Ministry of Internal Affairs will determine exceptional circumstances when issuing passports for travel abroad to readmitted citizens.
This restriction is implemented in accordance with the "Regulations on the Procedure for Citizens' Travel Abroad", approved by Resolution of the President of Uzbekistan No. PQ-4079.
