On Tuesday, for the first time, the Central Asian countries started conducting joint exercises with the participation of land, naval and air forces without the participation of Russia and China .

The military of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and Tajikistan are taking part in the "Birlestík-2024" command and staff training exercise, reported 24 KZ .

In the exercises, which will last until July 17, the U.S. patrol and medium amphibious ships will participate , and the Uzbek army will participate with helicopters. The main part of the training It will be held at the " Oy Masha " landfill and two kilometers from Tokmak Cape. The military will conduct a joint operation to eliminate the armed conflict. It is planned to hold competitions in practical military sports, tactical aiming and shooting. A total of about 4,000 military personnel and up to 700 weapons and military equipment will be involved.

According to the Ministry of Defense of Kyrgyzstan, during the exercises, the military will "liberate the island occupied by terrorists" and "conduct operations to ensure maritime security and protect infrastructure."

Alarabiya publication emphasized that the exercises are being held for the first time without the participation of Russia and China.

These countries regularly participate in exercises with the two most influential countries in this strategic region: Russia under the Collective Security Treaty Organization and China within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization .

It is noted that after decades of internal strife, Central Asian countries have recently strengthened cooperation as major countries are also paying more attention to the region, rich in raw materials and an important trade route.

All of these countries are part of a transport route between China and Europe that bypasses Russia and is known as the Middle Corridor.
