BBC editor-in-chief accused of links to intelligence agencies

Recent revelations about Raffi Berg, the BBC's Middle East editor, have caused a stir in global journalism. According to an investigative report by MintPress News, Berg may have ties to the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and Israel's Mossad agency.

Sources say Berg worked for the CIA's Foreign Intelligence Service (FBIS) before joining the BBC. He revealed his intelligence work in an interview with the Jewish Telegraphic Agency in 2020. He also worked closely with senior officials on a book about the Mossad special operation involving the resettlement of Ethiopian Jews to Israel.

BBC staff, speaking on condition of anonymity, have spoken about restrictions on publishing material critical of Israel. Berg has been accused of changing headlines to support incidents committed by the Israeli military. In particular, in a report on the death of a Palestinian man with Down syndrome, the BBC initially described him as a "lonely death" without mentioning the actions of the Israeli army.

Despite the criticism, the BBC management has defended Raffi Berg and refused to make any public statements on the issues related to him. Currently, the Western media is facing serious accusations of supporting Israel and misreporting events.
