Bakhtiyor Saidov in Kabul: Agreement signed on Trans-Afghan railway

Yesterday, July 17, the first trilateral meeting between the foreign ministers of Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, and Pakistan took place.

Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov said that at the end of the meeting, a tripartite agreement was signed between the officials to develop a feasibility study for the Trans-Afghan Railway project. The project will boost trade, support Afghanistan's economic recovery, and open a new route to world markets through southern ports, the report said.

Saidov is also expected to meet with Afghan Prime Minister Muhammad Hassan Akhund during his visit.
