August 28 - Day of Fasting and Prayer in Support of the Palestinian People

It is worth noting that Islamic scholars around the world have declared Thursday, August 28, a day of fasting and prayer in support of the Palestinian people. The community is called to join the scholars in fasting and praying for their oppressed brothers.

"Today, Muslims are facing one of the greatest tragedies not only in modern history, but in the entire history of humanity. More than two and a half million people are being subjected to total genocide in Gaza. They are being killed with deadly weapons, condemned to hunger and thirst. They are being left alone in the face of disease and hardship. What is even worse - this repression has been going on for twenty-two months without a break!

For the first time in history, in full view of the entire world, a Zionist-terrorist government is openly exterminating an entire people based on a declared plan. From mosques, hospitals, schools to homes and camps, they have been destroyed; all the roads necessary for life have been destroyed; all traces of human life have been destroyed. Gaza has been transformed from a place of life into a place of death.

These crimes are not limited to Gaza. In front of the whole world, they openly declare that they will occupy more Muslim lands as part of a false project called "The Promised Land: Greater Israel." They threaten the Muslim countries of the region, especially Jordan and Egypt. At the same time, they are on the verge of destroying the first Qiblah, Al-Aqsa Mosque, to which our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ascended on the night of Isra' and Mi'raj; they intend to build a "place of worship" for themselves in its place, the scholars said in a statement.
