At the OIC meeting, it was agreed to fight against Israeli disinformation
An extraordinary meeting of information ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Istanbul agreed to fight against Israeli disinformation.
On February 24, an extraordinary meeting of information ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) was held in Istanbul.
This conference was organized by the Communications Department under the President of Turkey, and about 20 ministers from 43 countries, more than 200 high-ranking people, media representatives, and international journalists took part in it.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan sent a video message to the extraordinary meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
"It is one of our most important tasks to record Israel's atrocities against our Gazan brothers, to make them known and to prevent disinformation. I congratulate those who contributed to holding the extraordinary meeting of the Information Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. May God be the light and helper of our Palestinian brothers and sisters," President Erdoğan said in his speech.
At the meeting opened by the head of the Turkish Communications Department, OIC Information Minister, interim chairman Fahrettin Altun and OIC Secretary General Husayn Ibrahim Taha, Israel's attacks on journalists in the occupied Palestinian territories since October 7 of last year and disinformation activities were discussed.
"Regardless of the cost, we must expose Israel's atrocities, genocidal attempts, and war crimes, not only in newspapers, but throughout Palestine with evidence. We will continue our efforts in this regard. We believe that no matter what Israel does, it will never be able to silence the voice of truth with its atrocities," Fehrittin Altun said.
Also, the chairman of the meeting emphasized that as Islamic countries, they will continue to shout the truth and will never allow the issue of Palestine to fall from the global agenda.
" We will continue to shed light on this darkness created by Israel to hide its great war crimes. Because, as the poet said, darkness avoids light, lies avoid truth. Israel is also running away from light and truth. But this escape cannot save Israel from being condemned in the face of history and reality, said Fehrittin Altun.
At the end of the program, the final declaration of the organization was announced. It condemns Israel's systematic disinformation campaigns to cover up atrocities and massacres in the Gaza Strip, as well as the spread of false and misleading information and fake news, and calls for the attention of the international community.
The representative of Uzbekistan also participated in the extraordinary meeting of information ministers of the OIC.
For information , the Organization of Islamic Cooperation today is one of the largest international organizations in the world that unites 57 countries with a population of 1.7 billion. Uzbekistan became a member of OIC in 1996.
