An Uzbek citizen who was injured fighting with terrorists in Syria was sentenced to 6 years in prison

A 24-year-old Uzbek man, who was seriously injured fighting with terrorists in Syria, was deported to Uzbekistan in February. He was tried and imprisoned for 6 years.

24-year-old D. Raimov was deported to Uzbekistan at the end of February. UzA reported that he was imprisoned for 6 years.

It was reported that the young man, born in Jizzakh region in 2000, listened to the audio and video lectures of Abdullah Zufar and Sadiq Samarkandi on the Internet, and in the process of watching, he met a member of the terrorist organization "Tawhid and Jihad Secretariat" in Syria.

Then he went to Syria through Turkey and underwent ideological and military training among the members of the terrorist organization "Secretary of Monotheism and Jihad". He was seriously injured in the military operations carried out by the Syrian government forces. After recovering his health, he was involved in the economic work of the terrorist organization.

He was captured in December 2023 while crossing from Syria to a neighboring country for treatment, and was deported to Uzbekistan. A criminal case was initiated against the young man under Articles 155-2 (Dismissal from school for terrorist activities) and 244-2 (Establishing and participating in religious extremist organizations) of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan .

This criminal case was considered in the Yangiabad District Criminal Court, and D. Raimov was sentenced to 6 years of imprisonment based on the relevant articles.
