An opposition journalist from Kazakhstan, who was assassinated in Ukraine, died

Ukrainian doctors could not save the life of Kazakh dissident journalist Aydos Sadikov, who was assassinated on June 18. His wife Natalya informed about the death of her husband.

Sadikov spent almost two weeks in intensive care. Sadikova said in her statement that her husband's death was " a reference to Tokaev's conscience".

The Ukrainian government arrested two Kazakhs   - according to the investigators, Altay Jakanb aev and Meyram Karataev, who came to Ukraine from Poland , are accused of Sadikov's death . Jakanb a ev surrendered to the police four days after the incident. Karataev , who served in the Kazakh police until 2019, is wanted. In addition, the President of Kazakhstan , Tokaev, ordered to determine his relationship to help the investigation.

At one time, Kyiv granted Sadikov refugee status. He was wanted at home in Kazakhstan on charges of inciting hatred.

The journalist and his wife managed the "Baza" YouTube channel with more than 1 million subscribers and actively criticized the leadership of Kazakhstan in their speeches . The couple also supported the demonstrations in January 2022.

On June 18, when the journalist was assassinated, he published a video entitled "The president of Kazakhstan has become a puppet of Russian influence agents."
