A publication that published a cartoon depicting the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) has been held accountable
On June 26, Istanbul-based magazine LeMan published a caricature of the Prophet Muhammad. After the cartoons were circulated, a group of Muslims expressed their displeasure and tried to enter the publishing house.
Police arrived at the scene and tried to calm the protesters. Some protesters were arrested.
Abdulhamid Gul, deputy chairman of the Justice and Development Party, said that LeMan's action was not only an insult to sacred values, but also a clear provocation.
"I would like to make it clear that we will never tolerate the slightest disrespect towards our Prophet, who was sent as a mercy to the worlds," he said.
Currently, it is reported that an investigation has been launched into the caricature published in LeMan magazine under the article "public insult to religious values."
4 people are involved in the work:
— Cartoonist
— Editors-in-Chief
— A decision has been made to arrest the editor-in-chief.
In addition, it is planned to restrict (block) access to the magazine's social media pages.
